Types of Appointments

Well Child Care - Comprehensive exams and immunizations which are important for your child's overall health and well being. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines which include well child care visits at the following ages:

2 weeks 2 months 4 months 6 months 9 months
12 months 15 months 18 months 2 years and annually thereafter

Sick Visits- Same day appointments for children with acute illness symptoms.

Urgent Care - immediate work-in appointments for children with urgent circumstances such as: lacerations, injuries, respiratory distress.

Consultations - Longer appointments for children or parents for issues such as ADHD, behavior concerns, mental health problems, or other concerns which require prolonged discussions.

Walk-in - We only see walk in patients on Saturday morning from 8:30am until 11:00am. If you walk-in Monday through Friday, we will schedule you an appointment just as we would if you called, unless it is for an urgent condition.

Cancel/Reschedule/Late Guidelines

We know your time is valuable and we strive to stay on time with our scheduled appointments. If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call us 24 hours in advance so that we may open the appointment for another patient. If you are running late for your scheduled time, please call to alert us. In some cases, we may need to reschedule your appointment time so we can stay on time for other patients. 24 Hour Health Advice on this Website

Our website provides valuable pediatric health advice in a convenient and easy to understand format. The "Is Your Child Sick?" section provides advice for over 100 common illnesses and over the counter medicine dosages. This feature provides an immediate educational resource for parents available at any time of the day or night.

Nurse Advice Line

We have dedicated nurses available during normal business hours to answer questions or discuss concerns. With our electronic medical record, we always have your child's complete medical history at our fingertips! Our clinic uses nationally recognized pediatric protocols to give advice. The nurses will recommend the appropriate home care, consult with your doctor, or schedule you an appointment.

After Hours Service

Please note you always call our main number 615-261-1210 to reach us 24 hours a day. If it is after hours, our message will tell you we are closed and give you some options. One of the options is for after hours urgent situations. When you select this option, you will be transferred to the Vanderbilt Nursing Triage Program at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. The nurse at Vanderbilt will triage your concern and take one of the following actions: 1. Give you appropriate home advice and ask you to follow up with us during normal clinic hours. 2. Page our doctor and call and have this doctor call you to discuss your situation. 3. Refer you to the emergency room for immediate evaluation. Each morning, we receive a record from the service detailing the call. This record is reviewed and electronically filed in your child's medical record.

Minor Procedures

We are able to perform many minor procedures in our specially equipped procedure room. Depending on the location and severity, we are able to perform laceration repair utilizing sutures, staples, or dermabond. We also perform ingrown toenail removals, remove foreign objects from ears and nose, and other minor procedures. If your child is injured, please call our office and you will speak with a triage nurse who will help assess if we can assist your child in our office or if you need to go to an emergency room.
